25 weeks and on bedrest

i'm finally home from the hospital! most of my hospital stay is pretty much a blur with a few scary moments, like trying to poop again without fear of bleeding, learning what a contraction feels like (like the baby is balling up and pushing outward), and seeing contractions on the monitor. i had some fantastic nurses and i'm so thankful for their kindness and patience.

before they let me out of the hospital they did another ultrasound the check on baby, amniotic fluid, placenta and my cervix. everything looked good and still no strong evidence of what happened. i'm still having contractions (about 1 an hour?) and i'm hoping that my uterus will start to relax over the coming week while i'm at home on bedrest.  the good news is that the light spotting has stopped and i'm hoping it will stay away!

so, bedrest. it's terrifying and easy at the same time. i mean, it sounds like a picnic, right? all i have to do is lie in bed all day, eat, relax. ha! all that time gives my mind too much time to worry about the baby and my uterus and my cervix. its really hard to distract myself once i get wrapped into it. right now i feel pretty good and positive, but i had a big teary moment earlier where i felt so sad and scared that something bad was going to happen to the baby. i just want everything to be ok with him.

next week i'm going in to see my OB. they'll check me and then figure out if i stay on bedrest full-time or part-time, or possibly go back to work. i already had my growth check ultrasound scheduled for that week so they'll have a good idea how baby is doing too.

Wishing you lots of happy resting and baby cooking weeks ahead of you. What you just experienced sounds absolutely petrifying, so I'm glad you seem to be in really good hands.
