we are so excited today to be 36 weeks and i'm still pregnant! baby is hiccuping and kicking around as i write this. and i just had a contraction. ;)
baby stuff is happening at our house. my husband has been putting together baby furniture, washing baby clothes, running baby errands, packing the hospital bag, and basically getting us ready for this little guy should he show up soon. after trying to get pregnant for so long all this baby stuff in my own house is like bliss. :D i just wish i could help him out more but i am stuck in bed doing my own important job: keeping baby inside me and helping him grow!
we have the "big" OB appointment this friday where my OB will decide if I'm going off my contraction meds or not at 37 weeks. we expect that this will happen and it could mean baby showing up in early march! My OB just wants to see how things go this week with the growth ultrasound, AFIs, dopplers and NSTs. Most of the women I know who were in a similar situation (on bedrest for contractions) went into labor right away after stopping their meds.
i'm realizing that i didn't update with week 35's growth ultrasound. baby did really well and is still in the 10th percentile for growth and is 4lbs13oz! we are very very pleased and happy about this and it means that he had good interval growth. we are hoping that at delivery he will be at least 5lbs and would feel so blessed if he made it to 6lbs! keep growing strong baby boy.
since we have not been able to go to a birth class because of bedrest, i just got this great book on labor and delivery. it seems like a great resource for before and during labor and also has some great info on newborn care and breastfeeding:
