dear zofran

(i apologize in advance, i am so grumpy today. keep reading if you want to know why!)

our relationship must come to an end. you were so wonderful in the beginning. you made me feel alive again, like my life was back under control and i could enjoy eating again. but, you are a mean two-faced drug, you have given me the worst constipation of my life! i am forced to stop taking you because i can't poop and it hurts to not poop and i eat lots of fiber and take stool softeners and nothing seems to happen. i don't feel nauseous anymore, but i feel all bloated and crampy and omg, it sucks to feel like you have to poop and then you can't for two days! the pressure feels awful. so, as hard as it is to choose between nausea or constipation i think that nausea is winning the battle of the better evil. imagine that.  i'm not looking forward to feeling sick tomorrow, but hopefully i will poop!

  1. Oh you poor thing...I think you made a good choice! maybe you can alternate the two....poop one day, vomit the next.

  2. Sorry you are having to make this choice...sucks. I've heard this happen to others and am avoiding Zofran so far. Hope the nausea goes away on its own soon!

  3. Hope the nausea passes soon. Your post really made me laugh. There is nothing classy about being pregnant. I'm sure you've tried it all but sour patch kids helped my nausea a lot.

  4. Hello from ICLW :)

Pregnancy is so glamorous, isn't it? All sorts of terrible things have happened to my girl parts in the past seven and a half months. Sexy. Still worth it, but... not super fun. Hope you're feeling better!

  5. Oops....the constipation is really awful. I have never been on Zofran, but the routine iron supplements always sent my bowels for a six!

I hope you can stop the Zofran, relieve yourself well, and eventually the nausea will go away.

Good Luck, and sending many many wishes to the baby and you....

  6. Hello from my first ICLW!
Hang in there - I had a difficult time with nausea too, hopefully you're at a turning point in your pregnancy and won't need the Zofran, so you're body can regulate itself again. Just take it one day (or one meal!) at a time!

  8. Hi from ICLW. I hope that your pregnancy goes quickly and easily, and that the nausea is a faint memory once you are able to hold your sweet baby!
