i am doing a lot of relaxing this weekend. yesterday i read, slept, ate, watched movies, talked on phone, and internetted. i plan for today to be a repeat of yesterday! i am being oh so lazy and it is great, and Mr. R has been fabulous and supportive and has been taking good care of me.

RE's office called yesterday and said that 3 of the 9 that they were watching have been frozen, the rest discarded. We are very happy and feel very lucky to have a total of 7 embryos in the freezer.

some random thoughts from the past 7 days:

the bloating (pre- and post- egg retrieval)
i realize now that i was SO bloated from my swollen ovaries. i remember walking around so gingerly and slowly, slowing down even more at stairs, slowing down in the car for bumps (and cursing the city's transportation budget for not fixing all of the bumps and potholes in the road). in the days before egg retrieval i started to get heartburn and felt full after eating a small amount of food. i even found myself craving soft foods, like yogurt, soup or pudding, because it felt easier on my ovaries!

getting dressed for work was so hard since all of my clothes didn't seem to fit anymore. i used the rubber band trick on my jeans which made them feel so much looser and found tops in my closet that were nice and baggy. i felt like i had the beginning of a pregnancy belly but unfortunately i couldn't go to the maternity store because i was not pregnant!

on the day before my trigger shot i remember telling my acupuncturist how i was done and i couldn't take my belly swelling any more.

i finally feel better (my weight has gone back down, my pants fit) and i think the day i finally felt better and like myself again was on day 4 (one day before day 5 embryo transfer). i noticed that i could button my jeans (no more rubber band trick!) and could walk normally again.

acupuncture
i was initially a little doubtful about acupuncture, but by this IVF cycle I was ready to through everything including the kitchen sink at getting pregnant. I went once before stims started and then twice a week during stimming, and once before transfer. I think that it was SO helpful mentally and physically because i was able to relax, talk about my experience, and just be still. I don't know if this cycle will be successful, but either way, I plan on sticking (hee hee) with acupuncture.
