day 1 post-retrieval

i accidentally left my phone off this morning so when i finally noticed around 10 am i saw that the RE's office has left us a voice mail. at first i was bummed that i missed their call, but now i'm realizing how nice it is to replay the message over and over so that i can reassure myself that this is all actually happening. it was also nice to listen to the voicemail with DH.

here's the report: out of 35 eggs retrieved, 30 were mature and were icsi'd, resulting in 20 fertilized eggs! they are going to call back tomorrow with an update and to let us know if we are doing a day 3 or day 5 transfer.

i'm still feeling sore and bloated in my tummy. i'm kind of hoping for a day 5 transfer to let my body recover and regroup a bit, BUT either way I am so excited and so ready. last night i took tylenol instead of vicodin and it helped me fall asleep easily and i haven't taken any pain meds since, so that is good and it feels like my body is healing.
